My boss called my house just before I tried to hurt myself, he knew I was in trouble but doesn't know exactly what kind of trouble and now I am worried that he will hold it against me. He has already not renewed my contact and I didn't get the other job where he was a.reference. he has constantly reassured me he won't say a word and it does not affect anything at work. But I'm not sure. And worried there is an undercurrent of rumours that is being spread, affecting my employment

Hello @KatieQuinn. I'm sorry for the late reply. I was wondering how work has been for you since you originally posted this? And more importantly, how have you been in dealing with the anxiety since you've posted this?

I can understand how nerve wracking this can be because I too struggle to open myself to others (although I have been working on getting better at this since I've joined 7 cups) My fear is that they will think differently of me or treat me differently if I open up to them about my struggles or my personal life. Since joining the site I have found it easier to express myself and my needs. Voicing them anonymously and getting sympathy and understanding in return alleviated my fears and allows myself to begin doing the same offline.

When it comes to the situation with your boss, I completely understand why you are nervous about a change in the dynamic after they saw something so personal to yourself. You weren't ready to share that with them and your fears surrounding the incident have magnified due to the loss of control in the reveal. However, I will say that it seems as if your boss does care about you and your wellbeing if they reached out at such a critical time for you. They reached out because they had a feeling you were struggling and they wanted to help. Seems like you have someone that is looking out for you when you are at work and that might just be the support you didn't realize you needed until now.

I hope that helps. That is just my interpretation after the short glimpse you've shared of your relationship with your boss. Maybe I'm missing details for I haven't seen the full picture. If you would like to talk about this further, I'm here :)
