Bubble Life
I feel as though my anxiety keeps me locked in this bubble. The more stress the tighter and smaller the bubble gets. Lately people at school have been making jokes about me, excluding, and just overall being rude. For example the other day I woke up in a pretty decent mood and I decided to wear a tube top under my big jacket and felt a little confident for once. Well as the day goes by my confidence demonished, but the thing that tipped the bucket was I was going to draw my teacher's blood and so I of course took off my jacket. Immediately I got comments and stares. It made me feel so little and ashamed of my body. I've been trying my best to put on a smile so no one sees my pain but it gets to me when I'm home alone in my room.
@kileynines227 I'm sorry that you have been going through this. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. I know how frustrated I get when my anxiety builds up because I tend to push people away. I can't seem to help myself and that means that when I need people the most, I am the most alone. I feel like I look around me and I see people but I can't call for help or get their attention because it's sort of like the real me is locked away and my anxiety holds the keys. Is that kind of what you mean when you say that you are locked in a bubble? If not, would you like to elaborate (no pressure if you don't want to explain further than that)?
It's terrible that you have been treated so unfairly by your peers. I want you to know that the negativity is not a reflection of your worth, your beauty, or uniqueness, but rather it is a reflection of all of their characters. I know that might be difficult to accept right away but the more you hear it, I hope the more you believe me. I got that advice months ago from my counselor after we talked about a breakup. I didn't start believing it until just recently. My ex treated me so horribly towards the end and he left me at the worst possible time. For so long I blamed the separation on me. I felt like him leaving reflected badly on me. Like I didn't deserve love or I was just a terrible person. But my counselor (and other people I've spoken to) have helped me realize that that is not true. Him running away just showed how cowardly he was. It showed how immature he was to deal with things when it got difficult. It had nothing to do with me. It's the same here for you. You do not deserve to be teased or excluded. You didn't do anything to expect that reaction and you should be treated like the special person that you are
Like my ex, your peers have shown how cowardly they are.
I am so proud of you for feeling confident in yourself. I'm sorry that no one else appeciated that confidence in you like I do. I'm also proud of you for standing your ground. You didn't back down when they made comments and you endured it with a smile. That must have been incredibly draining and I don't know if I, or many people, would have been as strong as you if placed in the same position. I can understand why the emotions have flown out since you got home. You kept your stance for so long but the facade can't hold forever. It's bound to break eventually. Sometimes it helps to talk through the emotions and the thoughts that are running through your mind at times like these. Would you like to vent to me about your day? I'm here all night to listen if you want to talk.
