Citalopram Side Effects
Has anyone experienced a skin rash from Citalopram? My DR recommended me adjusting my dosage as my body got accustomed to the prescription. I've been on it for about 6 or 7 weeks. I started with [edited]. This week I've moved up to [edited]. I've been at this dosage for close to 5 days now and this morning I woke to horrible itching and a rash. It's the weekend and I'm not near my DR. Does anyone think this is serious enough to warrent an emergency visit or waiting until Monday should be OK? I should also include that my appetite is way down. I've never eaten very much to begin with, but right now I'm down to about one meal a day. I've lost 8 to 10 pounds over the last few months. I tend to jump to the worst case scenario and I'm doing research before I start a freak out. The medication is actually working. I had one of the best days I've had in a long time yesterday. I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks!

@BradleyK Hi! I'm sorry that you didn't recieve answers when you first posted this. I'm sure it was a frightening experience to have such a severe reaction and not know what to do. Whatever your decision was that weekend, I hope that everything turned out ok. I also hope that you have either adjusted to your medication or had the medication adjusted to a more appropriate dosage for you.
@SecretlyMe thank you! Actually, I pushed through and the rash subsided about 4 days later. I think I'm finally through the side effects. Hope whatever brought you here that this site is helping. It's been wonderful for me.
