College freshman
I never understood how hard balancing school work money and being able to sleep and eat and exercise. I feel like I can’t do it anymore.
I’ve been right there with you.
I was a full time student + employee. Graduated with my B.S. in comp sci 1 year ago. I worked 9:30pm-6am Thur-Tue and found sleep to be the most important out of anything, even if it was a 45 minute nap.
One thing that saved me was either packing snacks or small meals to pick me up through that day. No food means no energy you can burn
Unfortunately, your crisis is a common one. My freshman year was nothing like I had envisioned. For most students it comes down to surviving, not thriving. The good news is that it does actually get better once you adjust — and that takes some time and experience.
Without knowing what you’re dealing with specifically, my advice is to make a goal achieving better balance. Actively work on getting better at managing your biggest responsibilities. Read a book about time management… use the tools available to you… get rid of habits which are holding you back. ***Prioritize your sleep and your diet*** Hang out with people who help you thrive, avoid those who make it worse. Honestly just try to make a small improvement here and there, day by day. You can’t eat an elephant in one bite, but small improvements add up and you 100% have it in you to handle all of these challenges.
I heard you. I understand the difficulty of blancing everything up is really hard, especially when we first just started. I have recently started my college and found myself in a similar situation. I hope somewhere in between that journey you will able to find some peaceful times or relief for yourself. I hope you are given strengths and endurance to go through it all slowly! Sending beams to you.
