DP/DR on high alert

Hi all,

Not much to say other than the depersonalization and derealization feelings are in full swing today as I attempt to go to dinner with my wife (and not mention that I'm having a rough day because that always kills the mood). Sort of a chicken and egg scenario I guess. I have had DP/DR for a month straight, with maybe only an hour or two out of the day where I feel somewhat normal. This is the longest stretch I've gone with this happening and it's very overwhelming to the point of feeling completely hypersensitive to EVERYTHING....lights, sounds, dizziness - you name it!

Just trying to get some sort of relief, even if temporary.

@bluelinebrotha

Hi! I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. I haven't personally had experience with depersonalization and derealization, but I did a little reading on it so I could better respond to this page, and it sounds really hard to handle. I bet it was really difficult to have dinner with your wife, but I hope that it all turned out okay. When you begin to feel hypersensitive to things, do you have any way to ground yourself? If so, what do you do? If not, maybe we can brainstorm some ideas together!

I hope that tomorrow is a little better for you. Stay strong!
