Detachment from reality?
Lately I've been feeling unwell and I can't exactly pinpoint why. It usually starts in the morning, I'll have very vivid dreams and then I'll wake up sweating, with a really heavy feeling on my chest. The feeling won't go away for a few hours. I usually go outside and walk for a while to deal with it but sometimes it gets too heavy that it's hard for me to even get out of bed.
Its really hard for me to talk about this because I don't even know to explain it so this might sound weird.
I feel like I don't belong here. Like, I should be somewhere else. Like this isn't my body and I need to return to my original place. Sometimes I stare at the mirror and catch myself asking, "Who are you?" But I know who I am...? I'm me. But still, something feels wrong. Something feels out of place. I don't know what it is but I hate it. It's making me anxious about everything. It gets so intense that sometimes I break down crying.
Of course, its hard for me to tell this to anyone because I don't want them to think I'm going crazy so. Yeah.
I put detachment from reality in the title because that's so far what I've been seeing on the internet but I'm still really confused and scared.
Thank you for reading.

Heya, that sounds like a really awful experience to handle, especially after just waking up. Im sorry to hear it :(
You arent going crazy at all, since this kind of thing can be a common side effect to anxiety and high levels of stress. Your brain can switch off emotional responses if it gets too much, like an emergency panic button, which could make you feel out of place for a while. Those walks are what help ground you :) Maybe you could look into more mindful techniques to calm yourself down during those times?
Not feeling like yourself when you look in the mirror and the symptoms you described sounds quite similar to depersonalisation. Though what you have could be a short-term response to the dreams, it would be worth looking into
Good luck, i hope you feel better soon <3
