Dissociation & Depersonalization

Right now, I feel like I'm not really here, I'm not really me, these aren't my arms or hands or feet, like my head is not attached to my body, and I'm essentially a spirit floating above myself. It feels like my mind and body aren't connected and I of course identify with my mind more. It's so strange - I've been with my boyfriend for 7 years and some days I just think, who is this guy? Why is he in my apartment? Is this my apartment? How did I get here? Who am I? etc. I logically can identify all of the answers but they just don't seem real. It's scary because I can get lost in this and sort of float away mentally, and my body feels frozen and unmovable. And it's especially stressful now because this is the first time I've held any job in years (and I've done it consistently for 3 months which is a big deal!) and I'm really worried that one day I'm just not going to be able to go, for a day or for days or weeks and I'll lose my job which has been helping me to feel a little more normal.

Does this resonate with anyone? Has anyone successfully overcome this feeling or found any coping mechanisms that work for you?

@toughBlueberry2028 I bet it is scary! And hard to explain to others around you. But it does happen to people and often is our brains way of keeping us from something painful or a way for our brain to escape. I wonder if you try some other stress managment (meditation, exercise, yoga) that it would calm down?
