Does anyone else feel this way?

Does anyone else start feeling anxious, maybe even panic attacks when good things start happening to them? You feel like something bad must be coming up, like you don't deserve these good things. I hate it. It seems like I can't be happy for myself or proud of myself. Not sure if this is more of an anxiety or depression kinda thing.

@anyth1ngtonumb I admit I don't get anxiety or panic attacks for that reason, but I do feel a little edgy about it.

Hi there,

I can relate to what you are going through, as I'm sure other people can too.

I know it can be tough, but one tip to overcoming this fear and anxiousness is to change your mindset.

One of my favorite quotes is, "A negative mind will never give you a positive life."

If you keep telling yourself the second you start to feel happy or excited that it will lead to some sort of disaster or unfortunate event, then it will be easy for your mind to spiral and start to believe that as a fact.

But you need to remember that this isn't true.

Bad things happen to all of us. Unfortunetly, it's a part of life. But it's impossible to know when, how, or why these things happen, especially to us. I don't believe that anyone can predict the future, and I don't think the entire universe revolves around us. Having the belief that something bad is going to happen the second we feel happy and good about life, is honestly just misleading and ridding us of living a life of freedom that we all deserve.

I've known people who just lost friends, broke up with their significant other, or just seemed to have a streak of bad luck. But what stood out to me the most is how they were able to look at the bright side of these events, no matter how small it may be, or even if it doesn't make much sense. The power is all in the mind.

Basically, life throws curveballs at us sometimes. But constantly worrying about when these events will occur will do nothing but drain us, bring us down, and make us feel worse.

All we can really do is hope for the best, live in the moment, and be grateful for what we have.

Things change, and we never know when or how, so it's best to just appreciate what you have now and love life as is.

And know that when things do get tough, you are never alone, and you will get through it.

Because just as easily as things can turn gloomy, the clouds can fade and the sun can shine again before we know it.

Stay strong and positive. <3

@NurturingTurtle20

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words! Having a positive mindset is definitely something I struggle with and I recognize that what I think sometimes just makes no sense whatsoever. I think I just tend to anticipate the worst so that way when it does happen I'm not disappointed.

I know things won't be like this forever and hope to one day truly feel happy and at peace. Thank you all for your feedback and kind words as well. It definitely brings me some comfort to know I'm not alone.
