Fear of feeling
It feels like my anxiety is out of control and has the reigns to my life like never before. I experience panic attacks and the overwhelming feeling of nausea. I was put on nausea medication which helps a lot but the anxiety is still there and I'm suffocating from it. My parents at first didn't believe me it was anxiety, so they took me to do all these tests: blood work, medication, samples and an ECG which I had no choice in. After all the tests came back with normal, my parents decided not to search anymore for something "physically" wrong so now I'm just left in the dark for support. I'm scared that I'm going to throw away opportunities along with my parents judgement and disapproval when I start having problems at school again.

It's a hard situation to be in. Anxiety and panic are tricky to understand and deal with sometimes. I don't know what causes it for you. A therapist might be able to help you figure that out. For me, I changed the way I look at anxiety and panic and it helped tremendously. I look at them as modes of operation. Just harmless things that we do automatically to help us solve certain classes of problems. Panic is very helpful for dealing with an immediate, unplanned threat to a goal (more or less). Anxiety is more for maintaining vigilance on an ongoing or future issue. They are just increases in alertness and help you focus. If you can break the negative judgement of being in these states of alertness, you'll stop feeling stressed about it. They will no longer seen a threat nor something that you need to be vigilant over. Next time your anxious, just try it. Sit up straight and without judgement just apprase what's happening. If you take a step back it's probably not as bad as you think and every time you think a positive thought you will feel a little better. I hope you feel better soon and can put this behind you. Its a great skill to learn. Lots of people have trouble with anxiety at one point or another. You'll be alright.
