Feeling abandoned

Hello,

This is my first time posting here. I am trying to calm myself down. It has been over 24 hours since I have heard from my BF, and he hasn't responded to any inquiries. I usually get something, but never this long. I'm terrified he gave up on me because I haven't see him in quite sometime and don't know when I can see him again. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but my mind won't let me calm down. I can't help but think he is mad at me or I did something wrong and I'll never know why. I don't know if being pent up is making this worse, but today has been one of the worst Saturdays I've had this year when it comes to hearing from him.

The kicker is I've been working on controlling my anxiety around this issue and it's like my worst fear just came true after all the work I've done to keep it under control. On top of this, it feels petty to be anxious over this compared to what is going on.

im just so upset and scared right now.

@dapperFriend3779 I'm sorry friend. That's terrible that your BF isn't responding. That must be stressful and frightning. Firstly, have you heard from him since you posted this? Is everything better now?

Secondly, I think it's great that you have been working on your anxiety. It's not uncommon for the anxiety to leave after you have been working on it and suddenly come back for a really bad day. Unfortunately anxiety has a way of coming back even when we hope its gone for good. But the good news is that you know how to battle it now. You have been learning which methods work for you to calm down and you are learning more about your triggers. This next time at battling your anxiety will be easier than last time and you will make progress faster this time around.

Thirdly and lastly, I want to say that this doesn't make you petty. What's happening right now in the world doesn't negate how you are feeling. You are feeling anxious and that should be address, it doesn't matter if something bigger is happening to other people. Your feelings matter too.
