Feeling ignored
Sometimes when I am stressed, I reach out to friends. Sometimes I receive encouragement, and sometimes I get left on read. I know that people are busy and have lives, but I do my best to at least respond to others when they come to me for help. Getting left on read hurts. I end up ruminating on why they do so. There are many reasons. I guess it doesn't matter much. But I end up feeling that my friendship is not reciprocated in the way that I originally thought, or that I am being taken advantage of for the amount that I do for others. It's not healthy to think that way, but the thoughts come up anyway and i don't have anywhere to put them. I'm so tired of this.

Hey there, I am sorry for what you are experiencing right now. I guess this problem and confusion are pretty common because that is what happens to me too. I think friendship sometimes is all about sharing and supporting each other. If I text my best friend, there is no doubt that I want her to respond. But sometimes, she may not respond to me for different reasons. I used to get upset if she did not respond. Then, I realized that our life is like a bus. There are always people getting on, and there are also people getting off. If one day, she no longer responds to me, I would not be surprised. We are different individuals and we have different lives. It is like an intersection. Some choose to turn left, and the others choose to turn right. You are not ignored because I believe there are people who always see you and are willing to respond to you.
