Feeling very sad and lonely.
Hello everyone,
I am 17 years old boy, not very good looking and have a plump like physique and not very witty to impart upon you a good impression of mine. This is my last year in school but as usual i have no friends to hangout with. I try my best to socialize with them but still is the one being left out and feel lonely. People talk with me and i do initiate conversations but every time I am not invited to any social meet-ups and not able to be part of their groups. I feel like being lonely and this feeling constantly makes my self esteem go down and I feel insecure of being alone in future. I am the only one to reach out people whereas people don't assume me as worth approaching.
What should i do ? Is being alone ok for me ? How to overcome my sadness of being socially allienated ? How to grow up my self esteem?
I am very hopeful of someone helping me by catering their valuable advice into this matter. It would be deeply appreciated. ♥️♥️

i feel you i feel lonely too
but i think that maybe trying to go up to people and make friends would help a little
you just have to be your self and if people dont like that well they lost a chance to be friends with a really cool person
you have to have confidence in urself i belive you can do it
id be happy to be ur friend if u want
Hi, I too volunteer to be your friend as I'm new to this place😊
I remember feeling the same way in primary school and I ended up changing myself in order to fit in and get friends ( do not recommend). It's hard because at this stage of school everyone already has their friend groups and just joining in may be quite awkward. Try sports or cultural activities where you can make friends from being put in teams or small groups. Volunteering for school activities or events is a great way to meet people of all ages from your school and neighbouring ones. Joining clubs is also a fun way to meet new people. These are ways for you to try new things, get to know yourself and people can see a new side to you that might be interesting to them! My best friend and I were in the same class for a year but we didn't become friends til we joined soccer the following year and I saw a new fun side to her that I really liked. It was hard for me to make friends because I was so quiet and social anxiety ate me up but sports gave me the opportunity to get to know people cause I forced to speak to everyone.
Now, about being alone. My mom often tells me that being alone is perfectly fine and I think so too. It helps you grow into yourself and being with your own thoughts sometimes is good. Sitting in the library alone or spending breaks by yourself is okay and it doesn't make you look like a loner. I promise you that you will find your people but you need to understand that you don't have to have made best friends by the end of the academic year. You can make friends when you go off for tertiary education too!
In order to raise your self-esteem, you're going to have to stop describing yourself like that. I'm sure you're attractive (even if you don't see it), funny, creative, smart, creative and fun to be around. Talk good about yourself so you can feel good about yourself! Try writing or saying affirmations everyday.
That's all I have and I hope it helps you. I'm rooting for you and I'm sure you'll make friends by the end of 2022 cause you sound like good person. Goodluck and don't stress about it! :)
