Felt lost and worthless during pandemic

Hello folks,

I've just graduated and looking for internships. Unfortunately, the competition is so tight and the available slots are more scarce than ever, so I don't have any self-esteem to strive for it. Day by day, i felt anxiety and loneliness is choking me out. I don't know what should I do anymore. Should I keep applying? Should I practice acceptance for this situation? If practicing acceptance could be the cure of my anxiety, how could I start? Thank you very much.

@Mentimuntimun

Hello Mentimun, I am a listener here and I completely resonate with every word that you have written, I know what it feels like when the competition is tight and opportunities keep slipping. I am kind off in a similar situation, so I know what you mean when you say its a choking feeling. I am sorry you have to go through this. But just letting you know, you are not alone. And please dont give up applying, keep applying and believe me you will find yourself in a better place very soon. I know this is easier said than done, but dont let this affect your self esteem, good things take time to happen but they do happen.

I have complete faith in you! You can do it :)

Dear @SBlistener,

Thank you for your kind reply. I saw that you said you had some similar experience as well. Would you mind if you share that with me? It would be motivating for me to know how others cope with their struggles.

Thank you very much, and also take care.

Yes , sure. I'll be happy to help you :) so I keep applying to places I feel I will be able to contribute , learn and grow. Some days are tough while others pass by swiftly. But I made a routine for myself and decided to take care of myself and my mental health, while simultaneously looking for job opportunities. Outline kf ny routine- waking up early, meditating, spending time with my family, sitting with applications, exercising, I also use this time to upskill myself by doing online short courses or attending webinars. In short, maintaining a routine has really helped me. You could try the same, and make short term goals like completing everything that u had decided to do in a day. Completing my daily to-do list really gives me a sense of productivity. I hope it encourages you as well and makes you feel better. Let me know if you decide to try this 😊 All the best ! 👍
