First job

I recently got a job at a call center ( my first job) . Everything was okay during training but today I received my first calls. My chest and stomach started to hurt and I entered into a state of crisis during the call, to the point I ended the call with the customer. After that, I started crying uncontrollably and started having heavy breathing. I lost my appetite all day, and I haven’t been able to get rid of the stress. Right now I can’t sleep and I’ve been crying all night. I’m afraid to tell my parents because they will think I just want to quit the job, but at the moment I’m feeling extremely overwhelmed by it. I don’t know what to do

Call center work can be very stressful, especially for a first job. I've worked various call center jobs over the years despite my brain damage. Thank you for sharing this issue with us.

I learned the best way to handle the calls was to use my "Mr. Hollywood" persona. In other words when each call rings think of yourself as the most wonderful celebrity you know of and that the caller should be honored to have you answer their call.

Or just take a deep breath before each call and give it your best performance.

@freddyT9533 First jobs can be terrifying, especially call centers! It's important to show yourself some compassion and kindness. You're making a big transition and of course, there is going to be a lot of thoughts and physical responses to it!

A month from now, you might be completely used to it and maybe even really good at it! Maybe you find out you dislike it and you end up leaving. Regardless, this is a huge learning experience and I'm really proud of you for putting yourself out there and into something new. Be kind to yourself and always feel free to connect with a listener during those bad days.
