Health Issues Causing Severe Anxiety

This year my health has been taking a nose dive. I have fibromyalgia and have always suspected I have something else along side it but doctors have failed to diagnose me. This year I’ve been getting sicker. I’ve been missing a lot of work to the point that I had to go on intermittent fmla. I asked my doctor to run tests to see what was going on and she refused. I’ve been stressing out a lot about missing work and my declining health. I’ve had countless breakdowns because of how guilty I feel calling out of work all the time, and worrying that people at work look down on me because of it. Last Friday, things took a turn for the worse when I started having all the symptoms of a heart attack while at work, and had to be taken to the hospital my ambulance. I have taken the entirety of this week off to recover and I still can’t get over the guilt and anxiety over missing work. I’m extremely anxious about returning. I keep trying to tell myself my health comes first, but it doesn’t help. I also worry a lot that I can’t handle working anymore because of my health. Then I feel even more anxiety because I need an income. My boyfriend said he would take care of me if worse comes to worse, but I would feel too guilty to let that happen. I can’t get my anxiety under control and I really need to because stress makes my illness worse. I’m at a complete loss as to what to do right now.

I believe our physical health is a reflection of our inner world. I think you need to take inventory of your life. See what areas you have neglected or ignored. I really think your physical health will improve once you get to the bottom of the spiritual and emotional situation under it. Try for one day to put your self first. Listen to your body, listen to your soul. Face your fears and they might disappear. What do you have to lose ?
