How do I stop texting anxiety? 📱

I constantly overthink messages I send to people, even though they are completely normal.

My feelings of stress are definitely heightened when I express opposing views as I don't like people perceiving me negatively.

I obsessively check or reread my messages to ensure that I phrased them correctly and prevent any misunderstanding, which is draining

I have also been deleting my WhatsApp chats to feel 'relieved' and forget about the messages - in the past, this included deleting messages after every conversation, but now, i do it every week or so

Sometimes I get the urge to distance myself, and message people less, but I don't want to abandon my friends because I enjoy their presence, I'm just not sure if they enjoy mine (although they've never specified that I'm doing something wrong)

This is a silly issue, but I want to feel comfortable when texting others and not feel like a burden

This also applies to real life situations as I overthink verbal conversations, but I've accepted the fact that I will always have those negative, lingering thoughts telling me that I've made mistakes

@WitherStorm It's common to experience anxiety about texting or messaging, especially if you're worried about how the other person will perceive your messages. Try to keep your messages short and to the point. This may help you think less. And if the anxiety severely affects your life, please ask for support from a professional person. They can help you develop coping strategies and may reduce your anxiety.
