How to recover from a loss of confidence?
Hi everyone and anyone :)
Last Christmas I felt on top of my game. I was a student in my final year at university and having a great time of it. My academics, social life, self confidence and sense of purpose seemed exellent. Unfortunately, I missed two details about my life that would ultimately tear my sense of self apart.
Essentially, a girl who I had a brief relationship returned and started treating me very badly (which I didn't deserve) and one of my housemates accused me of trying to slde in with his girlfriend (which I didn't). Things were made infinitly worse because everyone knew each other. The girl was housemates with his girlfriend and his girlfriend was club captain of the athletics society (of which we were all members). My other housemates turned out to be sheep and were insensitive to my pain. The pain of being openly insulted by a sociopathic girl who I used to fancy (they would dicuss who they thought she was with now outside my room), and the pain of being accused of going behind my housemate to get close to his girlfriend. After I was accused of making a move on his girlfriend I was not invited to join my housemates at athetlics socials, and I left university feeling completely alone.
I left university with a first class masters degree in engineering from a top university.
Now 4 months later, I've created an oppertunity for myself; to live abroad, learn a foriegn language and to make new friends. Unfortunately, I've lost a lot of condifence, which I'll need for this bold move. How can I remember who I was? and how I felt? 4 months ago. How can I regain my confidence?

@Razerstone aww razerstone, i'm sorry you got accused of that. people can be very quick to judge even without evidence. i'd say you are better off without these kind of people in your life and i'm proud of you for your achievements even during all those hard times. losing confidence is easy and sometimes one word can do great harm, but getting it back can be hard and slow but not impossible
