@Hartwell I'm glad you've joined us here! 7 Cups has so many helpful resources smiley If you check out the community tab you will find the calendar, which lists when various discussions are happening in the chat rooms, including anxiety and mindfulness discussions led by moderators. Those can be a great way to get involved, as well as this forum!

@Booklover95

hi, I really struggle with anxiety to the point where it's paralyzing. I also feel traumatized by the abuse I've experienced in my life. Now, I try to avoid people because I associate people with pain. I try to be avoid going shopping at busy times because I get easily aggitated by all the noise, and loud music, and crowds of people.

@Hartwell

Indeed is a hard situation. Anxiety + trauma can be challenging.

Well if it's ok to ask have you gone through the process of acceptance? I can't speak for everybody but to me it helped.

Basically you try to accept what happened in your past. You do a self reflection in a honest way and tell yourself you were a victim, there was nothing you could have done and so on. Sometimes is hard to accept and move on however can be a good first step to recover.

@Hartwell - I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to 7 Cups and just say that you are absolutely not alone. <3

I know that it can be hard to deal with anxiety, and at times it can be even harder to reach out. I'm proud of you for doing that and joining our community. :)

@Hartwell

Welcome to 7 Cups! Reaching out for help is a big step, so you should feel proud of yourself. We have a lot of resources that you may find helpful/beneficial. This Anxiety Community is always here for support, there is an Anxiety Support group chat with super supportive people, and also some independent self-help guides/exercises. You can also always connect with a listener if you want to talk 1-1.

I hope you find it helpful here, and I wish you all the best!
