I don't know what to do
I am new to this site and finally able to express my worries and fears. What's been on my mind lately is the idea of death, and more importantly life after death. It scares me so much to think of what comes after your final breath. Late at night I've been crying to myself, picturing the death of all the people I love, and even my own eventual death. I don't know what to do. I have heard of the whole "You just have to make the best out of this life," but this answer just doesn't satisfy me. I just don't know what to do.
@jblessing3528 First off I want to say welcome to 7 cups and that I am glad that you are seeking support! I am sorry that you are dealing with this fear, don't knowing what is going to happen in any situatuon but it's can be just if not more scary to not know what happens after death I get that. It's not easy for sure! I was brought up on religion a bit and was alway taught that I would go to heaven or hell but as I stepped away from religion I learned that there is way more than that, that could happen and I won't know until I am gone. I guess what it comes down to is radical acceptance, which in this situatuion would be accepting that we don't know and that yes it is scary but we have no control. We don't know and that is ok. It's not an easy skill to master but that's ok we are all learning

Hello there! Since you mentioned being new to this site, I thought I should start by saying welcome to the site! We hope you enjoy your time here, and if you ever want to pop into my inbox for a chat or if you've got any questions, you're most definitely always welcome.
Now, on to the issue at hand. I think we can all relate, on some level, to pondering the inevitability of death. I'm actuallly in the middle of an existential crisis myself- I've got no clue with what I want to do with my life and where I want to go in uni, and slowly my crisis evolved from "I don't know what I can do with my life that will make me happy" to "does it really matter if we're all going to die?". I know this isn't exactly the same as your crisis, and I am tired of hearing the old advice of making the best with the life that you already have, but I've learnt to look at it this way- worrying about death isn't going to stop the course of time, and life isn't going to pause while you to sit around and worry about death. If I understand you correctly, your "crisis" (for lack of better word) stems from your need for an answer. I'll be honest, tou may or may not get that answer, and with immense life questioning sessions like these, i suppose giving yourself time is always a good idea to ameliorate the situation, and I am always around ot talk to.
Sending love :)
I suggest find a religion, like Christianity, and try to follow it. I am a Christian, and sometimes, when I get sudden fears of death, I rewatch movies like "Heaven is for Real" and Documentarys. I am 14, so..
@jblessing3528 Death can definitely be a scary thing! It's a terrifying thought to think about the people you care about not being there anymore. I've also had thoughts like this about my parents and I will be freaked out and checking on them constantly! It's okay to be afraid of death. It's something that is still unexplained. We're not completely sure what happens when we die, but everyone seems to have different theories based on different religions or science. I'm not sure if you're religious, but maybe doing some research on what different religions believe happens after we die could help to ease your fears. I'm sorry that this can cause so much anxiety for you. I hope this post helps.

I have also experienced such thoughts about death of loved ones. It is a common thought pattern that anyone can experience in life. What you can do is to understand about the true nature of mind and our Self. How our mind observe thoughts and how our experience is formed.
