I don't know why
I haven't had anxiety until this year. Now, it's like whenever I'm alone I am filled with it. I'm not sure how to calm down or if I should mention it to my regular doctor. I am filled with this weird nervousness for no good reason and I freak out no matter what is happening. Can somebody give me some actually helpful techniques? The only helpful thing I discovered was running, but I can't always easily just go for a run, you know?

A massive well done to you for seeking support on here and expressing what you feel; it's never easy to vocalise one's difficulties. Anxiety can be quite a challenge to endure and put up with. Any intense level of stress and agitation can make anybody in a similar situation to you feel overwhelmed by the condition. Plus, many factors tend to come into play to manifest into something like this.
Running sounds like an awesome idea to try and cope with it; very insightful of you to come up with it. However, it's understandable to be puzzled on where, when, or even how to start. The fact that you've acknowledged the issue matters a great deal, because it shows that you'd like to make a change and work on yourself to enhance your mental wellbeing.
Since 7 Cups exists for emotional support to those who require it, there are various options available for you to try and confront this anxiety:
1. Chatting to a Listener: Go to 7cups.com/BrowseListeners , where you'll be able to search from a list of volunteers trained in active listening, who can speak on anxiety-related topics and, ultimately, hear you out. I'm a Listener myself with direct lived experience of this condition and know what it's like. Whether you'll find someone from the link to message or reach out to me, we're here to help.
2. Trying Mindfulness techniques: Mindfulness consists of various breathing and meditation exercises which allow the person to work on inhaling/exhaling, accept their emotions, process things through a present mindset with no self-judgment or shame. As human, we are allowed to feel what we feel and the best way is to let it all out, through practising breathing. Here's a link with a long column of different types of mindfulness for you to engage in, so you can pick the most relevant one to you. https://www.7cups.com/exercises/mindfulness/?showlist=1
3. Reading Self-Help guides: On 7 Cups, we provide a variety of guides for any issue a member may be struggling with. Each one contains helpful information and ways to try and cope with any of the conditions listed, including one on Anxiety, so here's the link to that too. https://www.7cups.com/supportGuides/selfHelpGuides.php
These are just little starting points for any member on 7 Cups. Hope the options above can facilitate you in finding the relief and calmness you deserve. Take care!🥰
