I feel like a failure

October 16th, 2016

Today i did something bad. Really bad. So my dad needed to drive his truck to the mechanic because it needed a oil change. The mechanic is about 40 miles from where we live so that meant that I needed to go follow him in the car so he will have a method of transportation to come back. So the trip went swimmingly, everything good. But when we got to the mechanic, I got a huge stabbing feeling on my foot (because yesterday I was playing tag at school and then sprained my ankle, it was swollen). When I got that feeling, I totally lost control of the car and I accidentally pressed on the gas pedal and I crashed the car. In the fucking parking. I felt like shit, I felt like a complete idiot. I caused damage to another truck, and my dad had to pay up 500 bucks for a new bumper. He was like, it's all good, shit happens, but I don't feel good, I feel bad and depressed that I crashed my dad's car, that he had to waste an enormous amount of money cuz of my dumbass. And he's probably not going to trust me anymore. :'(

I'm sorry to hear about what happened. But, what happened, happened. Somethings are not in our control. so, why to waste time feeling guilty about the things which we can't change? It was not your fault. The thing which happened is now in your past. Just learn from your mistakes. because we all are here to make mistakes and learn from them.

GoodLuck. :)

Oh I'm very sad reading this. I am so sorry you had to go through this:( I cannot value or devalue what you have done, I think that it could happen to anyone. But I understand how much you care about your father and how you want him to trust you. so I think I can feel your pain:(((

Would you be able to clarify one thing?

who said that it was ok, that it happens? the turck driver? or your dad?

Sorry to hear that you had an accident. Hope you are alright. Like your Dad said things happen that is why they call it an accident. Dont be so hard on yourself. Hope you have a better day today.

@rainbowdash1234 It is unfortunate that you were in an accident. I'm happy to hear everyone is safe. It is natural that you would feel guilt. It's great that your father was understanding about the whole thing. Maybe doing something to show your father that you appreciate him and what he does will make things better. He will be reassured that you take what you did serious and it may also lessen your guilt.

Good luck and I wish you the best.
