I feel like life is designed to make me fail

It’s almost like my lack of passion and interest in anything combined with the fact that a structured job gives me anxiety is one of the many conundrums that just confuse me emotionally. I feel like the design of my personality is not at all in line with the way the world works. If I do not like a 9-5, why couldn’t I have had the passion to develop a skill to become a freelancer? If I lack creativity, why couldn’t I have been content with a 9-5? But that’s just the simple way of putting it.

On a deeper level I feel like I am designed to fail.

Can anyone else relate?

Hello there. Your post stood out to me because of the heaviness I felt while reading it. The pressure of not being compatible with society's expectations is immensely stressful. It's human nature to want to be apart of something larger than ourselves, to feel like we have a purpose. There's a big world out there with lots of different paths to take. Your situation may mean finding the right path for you will take longer than average. Your grief is valid, and you're not alone here.

I hope better days come to you soon. Take care ♥️

I really relate to this too. I also have bad social anxiety so spending all day at a job completely drains me. Working a 9-5 from home worked really well for me, but those jobs already seem to be drying up.

It always struck me that society expects people to fit into a very narrow range of traits/personalities. It seems so unfair sometimes. This CAN'T be it, can it? There must be somewhere for us misfits.

If there are employment services where you live, you might also be able to find a job that will make some accommodations for you. I had one like that, where I worked 4 days per week. It was great, except that particular business started to do crummy things and not pay me, but I think that's unrelated lol.

Good luck!
