I got a job offer out of nowhere

And it seems so great? It was so random, they asked me, I didn't ask them. I don't want to get into too much detail, but this is virtually my dream job (except for the fact that it's not a full time thing, but I freelance anyway, so it's not a big deal). I'm so happy.

But they sent me 2 tests I need to do and a questionnaire, and it's my second day now doing it very slowly, because I'm extremely panicked. This could be my chance (one I didn't even expect) but if I screw it up, I ruined something I didn't even know I could have. The tests are not, like, impossibly difficult, but there are some things I have problems with and I worry whether I'm even good enough to do this job.

No idea how to deal.

@Owca Aw, I get you! Went through some job anxiety not long ago and I do understand.

Take some deep breaths. Try to break down the stuff into tasks to make it easier. Be sure you're properly fueled (have you eaten, are you hydrated, did you get enough sleep?) since that may affect how you're feeling right now.

I'll bet you'll be great. Good luck!

Hi @Owca. Congrats on the job offer. Amazing! I am happy that you are happy about it.

"This could be my chance (one I didn't even expect) but if I screw it up, I ruined something I didn't even know I could have."

Sounds like you are getting in to the future and designing a not very good scenario for yourself .

Rather than spend energy and time on that , would it not be more beneficial to focus on the 2 tests and questionnaire that they sent you, and doing the best you can, or am I wrong? Or on the areas that you find a bit more challenging?

Ultimately someone else will decide if you are good enough to do this job, but you can't control that. And after all they approached you remember.

Good luck and work well on the tasks that they have sent you.

take care
paul
