I'm not even sure what I'm feeling right now

This year has really been tough, even before this pandemic. I wanted to start taking medication for my anxiety and depression this year and I built up the courage to finally do it, but this pandemic broke out. I can't afford to even take medication now, and my family isn't supportive of therapy/medication. Everything feels like its worsening and I don't have control anymore. I'm not sure what to do...

@easyBlueberry6065

Who are you living with ?? Is there a particular reason why they are against therapy/medication ??

@intelligentpomegranate8 I currently live with my mom, she feels like medication will take away from my creativity or make me an empty shell of myself. My aunt also backed her thoughts and convinced me that I'd become a very empty person if I started to use medication.

@easyBlueberry6065

My family is against therapy and medication for mental illness as well :( It makes everthing so much harder than it needs to be. And they don't realize that I only want to get better instead of suffering needlessly. I know what it's like to not have supportive people to help you through such tough times, and to never hear any words of encouragement from them.

But you know what? If your family won't do it, I will:

I am soo proud of you for having the will and the courage to seek the help that you need.

Having to take medication for depression and anxiety is very valid and nothing you should ever have to be ashamed of.

I support you and your journey to a happier life unconditionally,100%.

💕 You are very loved and cared for, no matter what struggles you're facing 💕

You're never alone in this. You are very strong. And I wish you the best of luck.
