I asked my boyfriend if we could have sex today and oddly(?) said no. I got upset about this, and thought about why I felt so sad. I realized that I'm worried that he doesn't think I'm sexy. Also, it's pretty much the only affection I get from him, so I rely on it to feel beautiful and wanted. So..without sex, I feel like I'm worthless. I know that he doesn't think that, but that's how I'm feeling, today. I wish I could show him how much I appreciate the affection he gives me. It helps me so much.. I need something..

Hi @RissaDoesArt, I'm so glad that you reachd out for support, this is a tough way to feel and we're here for you. I wonder if you can tap in to what you might be looking for from him on a deeper level? I'm hearing that you're seeking connection with him and that sex had been the primary way that this has happened in the relationship. Given that fact it makes sense that his rejection would feel extra hurtful right now.

When we're feeling insecure we can look at it as an opportunity. An opportunity to show ourselves the love and validation that we're looking for in others. An opportunity to learn more about what we're seeking in our relationships. I challenge you to practice some self-care today and be gentle with yourself in your own mind. Please know that you have this community so come check in with us again and let us know how your day is going.
