Im not sure if this is considered anxiety or not, possibly social anxiety too,

whenever I go outside I have this constant fear of being judged and I hate it, I dont go anywhere without a friend because I dont want to look like a loner, I also need to be able to know if Im doing something wrong or being weird or not, and this one girl in my friend group( who is only there cos the bitchy leader likes her) makes my life a living hell, she constantly tells me how no one likes me, and everyone but one person in my friend group Im pretty sure they only keep me there cos I give them money( my parents dont even own their own house, we live in one my Nan bought for use and my grandad only gives me hundreds every month cos he used to be a doctor ) The girl found out I SH and she told me to die instead. I also believe in the paranormal so Im constantly worried something will come to get me. I also cant to detentions in winter cos it gets dark too early and my dad wont pick me up cos we live a 5 minute walk from my school. I am asking if this is considered anxiety because when I accidentally told my friends last year they bullied me and told to stop lieing cos I was diagnosed, when I didnt even mean to tell them, it just came out. I havent been diagnosed because I cant see a physiatrist as I dont want to tell my parents and cant pay for a private one as one Im saving for an iPhone and two I dont even know if Im old enough to get one,

Im 13

bye

Sounds like your friends are really toxic, and seem to be adding to the problem rather than helping solve it. I recommend that you try to reach the root of the problem. Why do you feel the way you do? Why do you need to keep your bad friends around? I know you're relatively young, but I was once a lot like you. It takes courage to take charge of your life but it's something you must do if you want to get anywhere. In my personal case I separated myself from those bad friends and got sorounded by better people, at least for me. Friends that listen and don't judge, friends that help me when I need it. Friends I can be myself with and don't feel ashamed of it. And I can almost guarantee that the same is out there for you. You only need to take the steps in the right direction. I'm not a specialist to determine whether or not you have social anxiety, but I will say this: sometimes problems masks themselves as other problems. Try to get to the root. You not wanting to be alone, or feeling like you don't belong are symptoms of a bigger issue. Try to figure out what that root issue is. Best of luck!

@MorgzX

Hi Morgan -

I'm twelve (almost thirteen) and I also think I have anxiety/depression. I think you should find some friends that can always make you happy, or at least you can look forward to spending time with. I did this when I felt so ignored by my friends that I became more depressed, and it helped my school life a lot. Also, if that girl is telling you to die and making fun of a medical condition, you should tell the principal, or, at least, your parent. You don't have to tell them about your anxiety if you don't want to, but that girl is bullying you and she should be stopped. I think it could also help you to find someone to talk to - even if it's a friend (online or not), or someone on 7cupsoftea. I know it's hard right now, and you should know your emotions are always valid. Just because they said you don't have anxiety does not mean that it is true. You have a right to feel any way - even if your feeling isn't one you like. All the best, and good luck!

@MorgzX As a 13 year old myself I get it. We constantly feel like we are being judged. This is a form or anexity. Just do this for me take a deep breath. My lisner says that there is a loop and when you feel this way you tend to have short breathing. She also said that you should relize that you are feeling this way and be able to label yourself as anxious. Lastly, she said that you might tend to think what if thoughts such as What if no one thinks i'm dressed nice? when you get thoughts such as these, ask yourself Is this rational? Could this be really true? Is what I'm thinking make sense?

Hope this helps,

Josie
