It never ends....
I blame part of this on my mother. She is a very anxious person though she would never admit it. I was able to manage my anxiety until we adopted our son when he was 6 years old in 2009. Bringing him into our lives was a blessing but also put us into a special place of hell that only adoptive parents of older kids can appreciate. Then in 2016, he had a major mental meltdown when he hit puberty and ended up in a treatment center for 8 weeks. It was then that I finally admitted that I needed help and requested an anti-depressant and anxiety meds. The treatment center and meds helped us a great deal and then life unraveled again when I suddenly had a new psycho boss. Fast forward a year and half and now I'm fired days before closing on a construction loan on our new house.
I "think" I'm managing well....but I honestly think that I'm so highly medicate that I just don't give a fuck any more. I don't feel suicidal...yet. I've been there though. Is faith and meds enough? Everything is just a mess. Something has to give.
@1071tech I understand how you feel. Having faith is very important but do not rely on the medications TOO much. I find my best option is to talk to someone close who would take their time to understand. For me, medication and seeing a therapist is not a choice, because everytime I try to confess to my parents they throw me down with their problems and how they have it worse which makes me feel uncontrollably self conscious and somewhat guilty . I have a friend though that talks to me, gives me confidence and allows me to talk about how I feel. I'm not saying it's the best thing to do since I'm not a doctor and all but if you do take this advice I am more than willing to talk to you anytime I can.
