I want to take medication so I can stop worrying that my boyfriend died
15 minutes of him not going online after i estimated he would arrive home/at work starts me panicking. 30 minutes is on a verge of a panic attack. an hour makes me want to die. I imagine the worst possible scenarios like he got mugged, car crash, got hit by a car.
I always tell him to charge his phone so that I won't panic but when he forgets or we fought and isn't talking to me, it's like torture for me.
Nothing "natural" works well and he doesn't understand/respect my anxiety enough to lay off from anything he knows will aggravate it. I'm thinking of taking anti anxiety medication. Will getting an anxiety diagnosis and medication cost a lot?

Gosh, it sounds like you are a really suffering with your anxiety. A a therapist, I can not advise you regarding which medications to take and/or what your dosage might be, but I can make some suggestions regarding who to ask for help. You may want to seek out a psychiatrist, a psych nurse practitioner, or your family doctor. In my opnion, a psychiatrist or a psych nurse practitioner is a better choice because you will see someone that specializes in the field of mental health. Similarly, we would see a gynecologist for women's issues, an orthopedist for a broken bone, etc. If you have insurance, you can likely check an online directory for someone in your area that is covered. If you do not, you might want to do some google searches for someone that is working on a sliding scale. Something else you might want to consider is trying to get to the root cause of what is causing you anxiety. Certainly it would be terrible for anyone's boyfriend to be seriously injured or pass away, but you may want to reflect on what truly being alone might mean for you. Sometimes getting to the root cause of our feelings can be really helpful, and when we understand them better, our anxiety lessons. Good luck!
