Money Stress
I lent someone some money back in august. Overall I gave him £100. I've known him for years but we were never that close until this year. He told me I would have the money back after a week, but nearly 4 months went by and he told me repeatedly I would have it back soon, and he even gave me specific dates as to when he would give it back.
I told him so many times that I need it because I can't afford to feed my lizard and he's getting ill but he still told me he'd give it back soon.
last week, he gave me £30 and blocked me. He still owes me £70 and I have no way of making him listen or give it back. He's stolen from me and I have proof of messages and bank statements but I don't know what to do because I told my family months ago that he had already given it back (because I didn't want them involved)
I don't know what to do but I really need the money. I don't have a job and can't get one.
its making my anxiety go through the roof and I thought I was doing the right thing by helping him but now I hate myself for doing it.
@0Bluebell0 Hey bluebell, I'm so sorry to hear that happened :( I had the misfortune of being in a similar situation. Unfortunately, I never got the money back and my so-called fair weather "friend" just kept coming up with excuses. I'm still feeling indignant when I remember back on it but it is important to find a way to accept that the money is not coming back :( it can be hard to hear, but that incident definitely served as a hard lesson to learn for me when it comes to money matters and who my friends are. I hope you feel better soon, and it'd be great if there's a trusted family member who you'll be able to confide in! xx
