Nervous about feeling better?

I'm finding myself in a weird situation - I've had at least a month of very low anxiety. I made some big changes in my life during that time (ended a relationship), and have been feeling overall happy and able to manage work stress, the holidays, and other things that are often triggers for my anxiety. I've also successfully gone down in dosage on my anti-anxiety medications.

I guess I'm posting because I don't quite know how to feel about my improved mental health. I've been dealing with anxiety and depression now for 5 years. Early on I hoped it was a phase, but gradually accepted that anxiety was a part of my life. Do I dare hope that I'm truly getting better? Do I treat this like another up, to be followed by a down later on?

It is wonderful that you are feeling better and the changes you have made are courageous and positive. We never know the future and there maybe ups and downs, but while you feel better just be grateful for the way you feel now and deal with the future as it comes....one day at a time will get you through the journey of life my friend.....just one day at a time.

Bless you 🙏🏻😊

I hope to be in your position at some point down the road. I was recently diagnosed with anxiety (a bunch of life events brought it out of me), and I hope to be there. Reading your post gives me hope that someday I'll get there...I hope.

Hey, it's great to hear how well you are doing, and thank you for sharing you success here for others to read and gain inspiration from your success 🙂 You really are a breath of fresh air.

I think it's absolutely okay to feel a little nervous, I find myself feeling the same at times as I am also in recovery but not for anxiety for something else, and I sometimes feel my comfort blanket has been taken away and in am expected to act differently, so I guess we are having similar feelings.

We are not able to predict what our futures hold, nor how we would deal with situations that arise in the future, for now let's just be happy and proud with you achievements so far, learn to enjoy the new improved you! You really have done amazingly well to get to where you are today!

Im very happy for you dear! Happy new year! I wish good things for you!
