Nervous and Needing Advice

So, a little bit about myself before I go into detail: I am 27 (28 in November) and have been diagnosed with C-PTSD and DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) as well as anxiety. I have currently been a nervous wreck lately because I'm trying to move out of my problematic home to be with my boyfriend. However, I'm scared to tell them because I already know it won't go over well, one reason being that my boyfriend is transgender and both of my parents are somewhat transphobic, and two being that I'll probably be guilt tripped into staying and falling for it. I don't know how to tell them without these thoughts hanging over my head and I'm extremely close to having a panic attack about the whole thing. Any advice or help that can be provided would be appreciated

@LieutenantSuisei I can kind of understand, with the whole moving out thing, my best friend wants to move out at 18 and my whole family is dreading it because we know her parents are going to freak out. She's dealing with a lot of the anxiety you're having but I think your Situation is more unique. I think it is very brave you're trying to take your life into your own hands dispite your parents wavering support.

@LieutenantSuisei anxiety and panic attacks are scary! When I get to that point I need to remove myself from that space and ground myself.

@AliceIC I have been doing the grounding techniques that I use and I've been trying to keep my mind busy. Sadly, though, the anxiety can still find a way to wriggle itself in there

Sounds like you're feeling fear because there is some uncertainty coming up in the future. You want to be able to convey your situation to your parents but you fear they will not be receptive to this change. Maybe you can work out a deal with your family? Maybe if you're needed around the house you can come visit regularly? Try to see what their biggest concern would be and make a deal to address this concern.

@LieutenantSuisei im really sorry about your situation. This sounds like a simular situation i was in a few months ago. I ended up spending the night with my boyfriend and his family for a week and then moving in with him right after. I spent the night without permission and while i was spending the night. The reason i did that was because i told her i was going to move out and she went crazy over it, so i walked out. I hope it doesnt come to this for you. But you must know that you need to stand your ground. If this is what you really want to do, then do it. They will have to get over it.
