New Member + Sharing My Story!
Hi, everyone!
Ive recently joined a bipolar support group and now Im joining the anxiety one since anxiety is something Ive struggled with since I was very little. I have Emetophobia and Agoraphobia. Emetophobia is the fear of feeling nauseous, vomiting, vomit itself, and gagging. I had to quit public school and begin doing online schooling because of it. Id have meltdowns in class in fear of getting sick in front of others or even catching a virus that could be going around. I even picked up the awful habit of restricting food intake in fears that what goes down could come back up. I have been diagnosed with both phobias, anxiety, and OCD since I repeat weird phrases relating to my fears and obsessively clean / wear facial masks in public. The worst part about it is that I havent thrown up in SEVEN YEARS. So why does it consume me daily, is the real question. Everyday is a struggle with this life ruining phobia, but Im looking forward to sharing my coping mechanisms and seeing others. Im thankful that I have a wonderful boyfriend and family who support me through this irritational fear!
With love, Kay.
