Not enough time

My dad has been diagnosed with ALS and time seems more important than ever. I want to live in the moment and be happy with 'now', but instead I agonize over what will come. ALS is an awful, awful disease and will take away everything that has kept my dad independent into his older age. He's 79, and until last year could pass as early 60s. Now he's declining so fast and there is no cure, only the time we can share until the disease takes him. It hurts my soul in a way I never knew possible. I thought I had prepared myself due to his age, but to have to see him suffer to the end is gutting.
