Overthinking

I think I have struggled with overthinking and decision making for a while. I can’t find anyone who understands where I’m coming from. Being indecisive has caused me so many issues recently. I have also been anxious constantly for days straight. It gets worse at night and I cannot even sleep normally. I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, I either wake up multiple times a night or wake up feeling exhausted as if I didn’t sleep the night before. I am anxious about school, relationships, friendships and much more. The anxiety is accompanied by many negative thoughts making me constantly question my worth to loved ones and their views of me, it makes me feel unliked as if everyone secretly dislikes me. I don’t know what my issue is, I just needed somewhere to vent.

Sounds so anxious and stressful :(

have you tried any meditation and breathing techniques? Take it easy on yourself, step by step, you’re doing good but give yourself time to calm down, breath and reflect.

As someone dealing with a similar issue pertaining to overthinking and assuming that everyone that happens to be within your inner circle sees you in a negative light, I thank you for posting this. It's good to know that I'm not alone.

I'm 33 years old and I'm dealing with the same crap. Working at home and being isolated has only made things harder since I only interact with my coworkers in chat, its easy to misread their comments as malicious rather than neutral...but that's another story, we're talking about you here.

The one thing I can genuinely attest to is mindfulness. Just sitting down for 10 minutes every day and stopping to simply be aware of all sensations within and outside my mind and body has made the racing thoughts tolerable, even occasionally entertaining.

For the sleepless nights, I will suggest that if you're unable to sleep after you lay down for an extensive period of time just go ahead and get up, write down everything you are thinking about, even if it seems irrational, write it down. You can also try reading a book, draw/doodle, or listen to relaxing music.

These activities work to allow your mind and body to come to a natural calm that will allow you to rest. I tend to write short stories or draw while listening to piano music on YouTube, works like a charm.

Anxiety tells me that you already know all this information or that you'll find this information useless. You have probably heard it all before. I mean clearly you're here, so that wouldn't be too surprising. But I honestly don't know that and neither does my anxiety.

Know that these tools that I have mentioned are still useful even if you have already known them. If that is not the case I hope my post is helpful to you. If it is exactly the case, congratulations on applying them to your daily life, keep going, the fog will clear up eventually.
