Panic/death anxiety
Hello,
I have always had anxiety, but in the last year my panic attacks have increased and I have strong anxiety about death. I know it’s due to my evolving spiritual beliefs and experiences with losing loved ones. I’m so terrified to die and leave my kids on earth. I fight panic almost daily and feel like I’m dying. I work in mental health too, so I feel like a fraud and a failure. I feel a lot and have a lot of passion so this takes an awful lot out of me.
@brittni915 Hello.
Experiencing natural human feelings and emotions is nothing to feel bad about. Nor does it define you, your value as a person, or your efficiency in your line of work. This is my personal opinion on the matter.
From what you have written, you seem to have already identified the source of your increasing panic attacks and anxiety about death: that being, your evolving spiritual beliefs, and experiences with losing loved ones? I say this is probably a good point to start from. One step at a time, gently guiding yourself towards a new way, perhaps, of processing what has been making you suffer. Your experiences, your fears, what do these things tell about your person, about what you value as important in this life?
It is a painful process. But you are not dead. You are here, you are breathing. You are present. This is temporary, everything is temporary.
I wish you the best on your journey.
