Separation Anxiety

I'm having anxiety about my boyfriend being away from me. We don't live together and I'm fine when he's home or at work. He went on vacation on the other side of the country and it was bad for me. Now hes back and out with friends and I'm feeling the same way. I've talked to him and he wants to help get through this. What can we do to ease the anxiety?
