Social Anxiety Increasing

Hi everyone, my name is Eevee I'm new here and seeing how this goes.

It's a long story but the gist of it is I am experiencing increased social anxiety when I'm around people, sometimes I'm okay for a little bit but then when I have to be social for extended amounts of time I feel like everyone is making fun of me. I start to hear little comments people are making, I start to perceive all of it as hostile or sarcastic. Sometime I can't even tell if they are actually saying things or if it's in my head. Due to this I've pushed away a lot of my close friends, ruined my relationship, and feel like I'm constantly being watched. I dont know how to make it stop.

@Eeveeb Hi! I'm sorry you're going through this. I know that social anxiety can be really hard to deal with, I've dealt with it myself in the past; however there are strategies that you can learn to make things get better.

You could start by working though this self-help guide: https://www.7cups.com/social-anxiety/ and see if it helps.

Another option would be to work with a listener one on one, and see if talking about it helps, while you work through the self-help guide. If you are still struggling though after that, then you might want to try and go see a therapist and see if they can give you more in depth help.
