Hi all,

1st post . im just looking for abit of advice. I've alot of stressing coming from different areas in my life at the moment.

(1) I've been in a relationship with a girl for the past year but I don't feel as if it's what I want. She's previously had alot of issues which I've taken upon my self to help her with, which at first was fine, Now I don't feel the spark anymore and I feel trapped as we live together and I have no way of having my own time to myself, our lease for house is up in September and the decision between staying put and starting a fresh without her is tough as I do not want her to have any more of these issues I've previously helped.

(2) I've started a intensive 1 year uni degree to become a teacher which comes along with a refresher course, in total I've to completed 25-40 hours of work a week along with working a full time job, which has given me plenty of stress on top of the girlfriend situation, which makes me some days just not want to move and I feel just under constant pressure and abit numb with it.

(3) I'm an athlete who's also a year away from competing in a major international tournament but I have suffered a season ending neck injury. The financial costs of the injury plus being not able to play have put me under alot of stress. I want to focus on my recovery but I don't have the time. I have become out of shape from this and also my relationship/work and now feel very unhappy and mentally can't face gyms.

Any advice or thoughts?

Hi,

That sounds like an enormous amount of pressure. I was just thinking that it's very caring of you to want to support your girlfriend. However, if you aren't feeling like the relationship is what you want I imagine it could soon become more damaging than helpful to both you and her if you remain together. Perhaps the lease renewal is the time to make that break and start to focus on recovering and dealing with your workload. I don't imagine it will be easy, but I'm sure it's the right thing for you both in the long term.

Good luck with everything.
