I tesstrss , I know how you feel because I was very nervous to start medication when I started. My doctor weened me on slowly starting w small dose and gradual increase. The first day I took it I was so nervous I couldnt sleep. I was scared something terrible was going to happen. Good news is, it never did! I was skeptical for months and it took me a while for my doctor to convince me just to try. I am still on medication and it has improved my anxiety a lot. I still get anxious, but before I would cry multiple times a week and have breakdowns out of the blue where I was unable to calm down. Now, I get anxious less often, and when I do, I am able to get out if it shorter time. I hope for you they work well.

@tesstrss
I was prescribed medication years ago, I would start taking it then quit after I felt better. This only led to a cycle of misery causing me to lose jobs, relationships along with hospital visits and jail. Once I accepted the fact that this medication did work and then started counseling my life changed for the better and now believe it or not I am a completely different person and yes I'm still on my medication religously. The main thing is if you are on a medication never just stop taking it without your doctor's instruction that can cause serious side effects. If you feel you want to get off the medication let the doctor ween you off. But the word of caution medication without therapy is like baking bread without yeast. You need all the ingredients to be successful.
