Terrified of failing....

Years ago, I let my driver's license lapse, mostly because I couldn't afford to pay the fees to transfer it between states when I moved.

I have horrible anxiety about driving, always have. I failed my exams three times when I first obtained a license at 19 (I'm 35 now). I dont like driving, I prefer walking or public transport.

My family is pressuring me to obtain a license, especially now that my children are 13 and 7, and their schools arent in walking distance from our home.

I have been attempting the online practice exams, and fail 2 out of 3 times. How do I combat my anxiety and fear of a panic attack when I actually sit for the written exam? I can't even fathom taking the driving test again. Just thinking about it makes my heart race and sends my anxiety levels up to an overwhelming point.

@jslittleharley I'm sorry that your thread has been sitting here unanswered for so long. How did it go when you took the exam?

If you haven't taken it yet and your anxiety is still really high, I don't mind sharing general advice I've recieved to lower my anxiety throughout the day. Hopefully one of the strategies will work for you.
