Update: need advice
i made an account here a while back posting a thread titled "need advice" or something similar where i was feeling super anxious about a guy on steam asking me things that made me uncomfortable; and i recall deciding to give them a chance.
well, this thread is like an update to that situation.
turns out the guy was an extremist, far-right troll that prefers to stay in their ball of fear and hate instead of taking the plunge and learning more about their "enemy". i know this because they kept bashing people on the left, put right-wingers on a pedestal, only bashed one religion out of many and began trolling the hell out of me when they learnt that i'm a member of the religion that they prefer to hate than learn more.
though i felt sad inside that they really hate my religion and people of the same religion, i didn't let the guy break my spirit. all in all, after they kept repeating the same ignorant, paranoid statement (with emotes, giving the hint that he genuinely doesn't care about what i have to say and he just wants to bash on islam) multiple times despite my countless attempts at trying to educate them about the beauties of my religion; i've become convinced that they're a lost cause and that i should just leave them be.
and so i did, and it feels great to be honest. the biggest kicker is that they had the fucking balls to say that he thought of converting to my religion just so he could get in bed with me. not just a bigoted, extremist troll but also a misogynist. wow, who would've thought.
that being said, wish it was easier in finding better friends; shit like this just makes me miss my old friends more and more. they were heaps better than the people i've been finding and meeting nowadays...

Congrats on good riddance! Keep your spirits high. Such people are best ignored. Good that you shared your thoughts/emotions here. I am sure that you will feel lighter now. @Human4Human: Thank you! Again, I did ask for advice here few weeks ago (though not on this account; but on another account which I lost), so I figured it would only be fair if I did an update post, especially because I left it off saying I wanted to give them a chance before removing them. :)

I wish people would stop bashing everything they don't agree with immediately and instead actually reflect on why they hold those prejudices. I'm a Christian, personally, but I love the culture and customs of Islam, and from what I've seen, y'all are all so nice! I don't understand why people can't accept differences when, with so many humans in existence, we know we're bound to disagree with people sometimes; as long as someone isn't being actively harmful, we don't need to bash them! Debate and productive discussion are great if the other person is open-minded or can at least remain civil, but that person was clearly never up for any genuine tough conversation. Allow yourself to move past it, maybe pray about finding friends if you want to, and continue to be true to yourself. Sending much love and thoughts!

I wish that too, yet, for some reason they like holding prejudices it seems; even though it's just uncontributive; and learning more about your "enemy" would do heaps on your favor instead.
Kinda ironic, as he was a Christian too; constantly mumbling about how there's no Christians left and all of them are being hunted down by us; as if we've got nothing better to do than hunt "infidels" all day. Funnily enough, not a single muslim I ever met has used the term "infidel" to even refer a non-believer.
Like i said to him previously - every religion got their crazies; and Islam isn't free from such crazies either. Yet, the media seems to like putting more focus on our crazies than other crazies. I even told him that certain Hindus are also "hunting down" Christians, but they didn't give a damn. So yeah, muslim-bashing at its finest; even though there are another group of people "hunting them down" as well. Fucking hell in a handbasket.
Still, thanks for the positive words; I guess you got lucky to meet the not-so-crazies, which is why you have a more positive opinion on us. Now that I think about it, the far-right guy said how he doesn't know a muslim that's not a "serial killer"; only to say later that he apparently knows a muslim guy that likes anime too much. I probably should've called him out on his hypocritical bs right then and there, but ah well. Lesson learned. But yeah, it's likely that he formed his opinion on Islam based on the news - which almost always portrays us in a negative manner - and left it at that.
