Waiting on the Job Application Response

Hello,
I recently applied for the job and I waited for over two weeks for a response. When do I know that they reject me or when they usually get back on the application?

It varies so much from country to country and from company to company. In my time I received an answer in a week, no answer at all or an answer after 3 months.
If it makes you anxious you can politely contact them and ask them nicely what the processing status of your application is because you need to know this in order to go forward with your search. Noone will mind and in fact it will be a good sign that you are really interested in the job.
