Work anxiety

I am so fed up. I started a new job today - good job, nice people, place is nice too... But I am currently sat here dreading work tomorrow and I don't even know why. I feel so depressed and anxious. I have felt like this with every job that I have had. My comfort place is my home, and the idea of work every day makes me sick.

I've dealt with anxiety and depression in the past but I've always had this issue with work

It is like work makes me depressed...

@Shinebrightalways I'm honestly so relieved to hear you say that. Work of any kind does the same to me.... sometimes. Sometimes, I'm a great worker, and am really interested in what I'm doing and have no trouble doing it. But that's about 20 percent of the time, and the rest of the time, just the very fact that I have to work freezes me up so bad that I can't get anything done. I and others have thought that I'm just lazy or unwilling to work or something like that, but that's not it - it causes this weird brick wall for me mentally that I can't get through. Anyway, you're not alone and you're not lazy or a bad person <3 :D Sometimes it helps me to think my way through it, like telling myself WHY I actually like this work and how much good it's going to do other people if I get it done. (Helps that I'm at a nonprofit, probably, but you know, adapt to suit you & your job!)

@Shinebrightalways I understand this. Work is tough for me because I feel like I am never good enough at my job for my manager and my colleagues, no matter what I am doing. I have a feeling of dread whenever I am at work and i just want it to end so i can go home and relax. I broke down infront of my manager during a review once and I told him how i felt like I wasn't working well enough. He reassured me that I was doing great and achieving all my targets. In reality there is nothing to worry about and it really is all in the mind. When i panic, I remind myself that my manager praised me during my annual review and this calms me down a little.

I really know how you feel. I feel like this every day as well. It's not like the environment is terrible and coworkers aren't terrible. The work itself is not terrible. And yet, for the longest time I have felt crushing anxiety, and even now after it's been a while I still struggle with it. It might be that the office is not the best work environment, and that's just how it is sometimes. Office relationships and politics is what really gets me too. Best of luck, and just take it one day at a time. You can always check in here and make sure to take care of yourself lots when you're not at work :)
