does meditation actually help?
these few weeks my anxiety has been on the high and i feel sick almost every day. it comes so often to the point where i'm getting quite used to the attacks. anyway, i just wanted to ask, if meditation actually helps with anxiety in the long term? i do try to meditate but there are times when my brain just says no and starts overthinking during my meditation which makes me feel even moer frustrated.
@courageousCoconut1822 I have those moments as well, I think in time and more practice a person can have more control during meditation, continuing to get stronger and develop deeper skills with it. In a lot of the things I have read, they have reminders that our minds are supposed to think, it's normal for our minds to do that, there is nothing wrong with us. They say and give gentle reminders to focus back on the mediation when the mind wanders. I like the idea of remembering that when we meditate that we call it practicing because I think we can grow stronger and better at it. Until then, or in between the good practices, I think we may still have bad practices, too. It helps me if I go easy on myself and have patience and just try again another time. Have you found that sometimes it can help you? I have experienced really great practices sometimes. And sometimes not so much.
