hi, im 19 and i have 2 best friends (1 boy, 1 girl). We have been friends since we were 8, they are both extroverted people that love to party and have as many friends as possible, and im the opposite (quiet and introvert). While we were in high school they thought me how to be more open to things, how to meet new people, how to not be just in my comfort zone and all of that. They were really popular back then, and i was kinda not(?? and even tho they included me as much as they could, i wasnt really 100% comfortable i guess?? bc i felt like i didnt deserve hanging out with them and just being their friend.

We are now in college and we moved to diferent cities, they have new friends and have new experiences. We used to text very often but now we dont, and im so afraid of being alone and i have this coping mechanism were i push people away because im afraid of them leaving first, so i start to pushing them away.

And thats what ive been doing lately, im so afraid of them leaving for other people bc i know im so replaceable, i know that there are millions of girls out there and i know they are going to choose them over me. My anxiety has been 10000% worst these past months and im so afraid of doing something dumb. Please im so afraid of just being alone but i dont know how to tell them what i feel.

@lilacstone17 I think that you should just tell them exactly that. I know it's difficult trying to express how you feel when you feel so horrible, but please try. Since you guys have been friends for do long I'm assuming they're good friends, so don't let them go. Don't let your anxiety get in the way of your happiness. Truly good friends come few and far between. Don't let them slip away. I've lost a couple friends because of my anxiety and I can tell you that it's not worth it. So again, please reach out to your friends and tell them how you feel. That's something anxiety and depression can't get in the way of.
