Hello! Nice to meet you. I am sorry to hear that. I suffer from stress and anxiety too. So far I googled coping mechanisms and tried resources suggested. A few things worked for me: 1. Grounding: I take a couple of breaths. Then in my mind I start listing all the objects around me i.e., 3 lamps, 2 windows, 1 bookshelf, 10 books etc. That brings my mind to the present situation. 2. Feel the feelings: If I feel anger, sadness then I let the feelings stay and let my mind tell me all it thinks. Then slowly I distance myself from that feeling by thinking "I hear what you are saying. I don't think it is completely true." This is the hardest part and is taking me looong time to practice it. 3. Journalling for myself and for my next therapy's talking points. 4. Find and try new hobbies: I am trying out gardening, sketching, crocheting etc. I am just doing it to enjoy, not to judge the quality of my work. 5. Using warmlines such as NAMI, 7 cup etc. warnlines in triggering situations. These are all that I am trying till now. I am learning myself and it might be different for someone else. I am struggling and have bad days often. I am trying to me sympathetic towards me and have a forgiving mind. Hope it helped even a small bit.
