Anxiety & School

At school it's not bad being honest. I just get really irritable when I get claustrophobic. And i really hate it when people try to talk to me while I have my panic attacks, but usually they don't know I'm having one. I don't really know how to communicate that. Here anxiety is seen as a thing that people use to get attention and I don't want to seem like that.

Anyhow, yesterday I had a really bad panic attack. It was the first time it has ever happened. It was really scary and it hurt so much that I got my mom to pick me up early (mind you I never leave school early unless it's because of a doctors appointment). And I'm pretty sure I know why it happened but it was still terrifying. I was sweating and shaking and I could barely move and I didn't know why until I figured it out much later. It wasn't my claustrophobia this time. I think it's because I took some meds that I haven't taken in a while because they had bad side effects.

@lexthepotato I'm sorry to hear that you're not doing well at school when getting claustrophobic and I imagine having panic attacks are difficult, especially when someone is talking to you. I understand that you don't want to seem like anxiety is just a tool for getting attention, as you're not like that.

In regards to taking your medication, have you talked to your psychiatrist about the effects of not taking medication regularly?

@MarshmaIIows the medication that I took is just for emergencies partially bc the side effects arent great. Usually I take my meds regularly but now that you mention it, it's been a bit irregular lately so I'll make sure to ask about that.
