Dealing with social anxiety at work

Any advice for making phone calls with social anxiety? For reference, part of my job involves calling people to ask if they're interested in participating in research studies. I've only had to make a few calls so far, so it hasn't been too bad, but I'm going to need to start making a lot more calls soon. I was just looking for tips on how to ease my anxiety while doing this. Anything helps! Thanks in advance!

@lavenderwave76
Try to have a pen and paper handy. Someone told me when I am having anxiety try to draw ciricles. Put the first word you think of in the center of the circle until you think of another word. Then start all over again. It seems silly but helps some.

Hey Lavender! First of all, as someone with social anxiety as well, I find it really hard to make calls too, despite it being a crucial part of my job, so I understand what you’re facing :(. I still get scared a lot these days, but what’s helped is by making an internal outline in my head of what I’ll say, so the words could easily flow, and I won’t worry about looking awkward. Also, affirmations work! I recently realised that people don’t really care about what you say, they are more focused on themselves! So just bring the best you can, and even if you fail no one would notice! It’s worked everytime I’d have a call! Wishing the best!!
