Limiting Social Interaction + The Level of Social Interaction
I'm not in the position where I can get rid of interacting with people entirely, but I am trying really hard to safely navigate and control the level of which I'm allowing myself to be vulnerable and open up. No level of vulnerability or being open feels too safe but the positions I hold require it to an extent. I want to be able to gauge situations and feel safe, but I'm having a very difficult time doing so. I am also feeling really awful and inconvienent when communicating feelings or emotions that might make someone feel like they are required to respond or feel a certain way. I don't feel comfortable admitting that I like someone's attention or that they are good to have around because I feel that they'll only stay if I don't want them to. I'm all over the place and I know it and I don't want to be but I need to get back to being okay. I don't think I've ever really been okay when it comes to social anxiety in a way that didn't require me to be away from people. I'm trying.
I see and hear your efforts, and understand how hard it is to manage social anxiety--you ARE trying, and it sounds like you're being very thoughtful about it. I don't know your situation exactly, but I am wishing you all the best and hoping you're able to find a comfortable balance soon
