I have been getting really anxious during some of my classes. especially my English class. sometimes my teacher randomly calls on people and I'm sacred she will call on me and I won't know the answer or people will judge me if I say something stupid. I'm just scared I won't be ready when she calls on me and I will embarrass myself. School overall has been so stressed out and overwhelmed

I'm doing all my schoolwork remotely. Been trying to study under fire circumstances and been at it awhile. Like years. I have a lot education but still working on self-improvement. Told never too late or too old but instead of support in real life I face a lot of criticism and negative feedback which isn't supportive.

@smolstrawberries It sounds like you're afraid of being unprepared. You are absolutely not alone in this fear! Almost everybody experiences this fear at some point or another, whether in class, at work, or in their personal life. Using good time management and study skills can help you stay on top of schoolwork, so that you feel more prepared. And practicing self-care and stress relief can help you feel less anxious. Please feel free to reach out if you'd like resources on any of these topics or if you need more support!

I think a lot people have this fear. What's really interesting though is when I always have the right answer or seem super smart to my classmates, I come off as intimidating. If I'm called on in class and I don't have the right answer, I know if I don't make a big deal about it, people will hardly notice, and I'll seem more "normal". Everyone worries they'll be judged as stupid. It's important to remeber school is where you learn. Try not to be so hard on yourself!
